Lets take a look at some famous celebrities who once rocked cheerleader uniforms. I think we would all love to see these sexy celebrities put these uniforms back on. Here they are celebrity cheerleaders then and now.

Olivia Munn

Munn looks a lot different as a young cheerleader, but that probably won’t stop director Brett Ratner from claiming that he slept with her back then.

Meryl Streep

She was always the most-nominated cheerleader to yell into the stadium horn.

Sandra Bullock

In late June, former cheerleader Bullock can be seen with Melissa McCarthy in one of the most highly anticipated 2013 summer movies, “The Heat.”

THEN: Cindy Crawford made having a mole a fashion accessory, served as a spokesmodel for Pepsi, and starred in music videos for George Michael and Bon Jovi. She also hosted MTV’s ‘House of Style’ in the early ’90s. NOW: Crawford launched her own beauty line called Meaningful Beauty in 2005. She also has her own line of furniture called the Cindy Crawford Home Collection, and a line of home goods for JCPenney. In 2011, Crawford returned to modeling to pose for the cover of Vogue Mexico.

THEN: Linda Evangelista made short haircuts impossibly chic, and famously said of herself and her fellow supermodels, “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day. NOW: Evangelista continues to model at the age of 48. In 2007, she signed a contract with L’Oreal, and in 2008 she signed on with Prada. The New York Post reported in 2010 that Evangelista would be the new face of Talbots.

THEN: Christy Turlington was a model for Calvin Klein and starred in music videos for George Michael and Duran Duran. NOW: Turlington modeled for Calvin Klein from 1987 to 2007, and has been featured in campaigns for Maybelline and Versace. In the 2000s, Turlington launched a skin care line and two fashion lines for Puma. Turlington has written for Marie Claire, Teen Vogue, and the Huffington Post, among others. She’s also a great humanitarian, and has done work for a vast array of charities, including CARE and Product Red.

THEN: Janice Dickinson modeled all throughout the ’70s and ’80s and describes herself as the world’s first supermodel. Dickinson appeared on the cover of Vogue a whopping 37 times and was featured on the cover of Elle seven times in a row. NOW: Dickinson parlayed her supermodel fame into a gig as a judge on ‘America’s Next Top Model’ for several seasons. She also had her own modeling agency, which was featured on the reality series ‘The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency,’ but apparently business wasn’t as brisk as she’d have liked — because she recently filed for bankruptcy.

THEN: A blonde in a sea of brunettes, German model Claudia Schiffer resembled famed French star Brigitte Bardot, and was handpicked to be the face of Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld himself. NOW: Schiffer still has a contract with L’Oreal and continues to model. In 2011, she started her own cashmere fashion line, and she’s been praised for her charitable work for UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador. Schiffer is now married to film director Matthew Vaughn and has three children.

THEN: Iman was an instant success as a model — her first modeling assignment was for Vogue in 1976, and her star just grew brighter from there. The Somalian model turned heads with her slender features and exotic look. In addition to modeling, she starred in films like ‘Out of Africa’ with Meryl Streep and ‘Now Way Out’ with Kevin Costner. NOW: Iman married rock icon David Bowie in 1992, and the pair have one child together. She has her own ethnic cosmetics line called Iman, obviously, and a clothing line called Global Chic that’s sold on the Home Shopping Network. Iman participates in many charities for children, including Keep a Child Alive and Save the Children.

Earning the nickname ‘The Body,’ she was also on the cover of Sports Illustrated a record five times. NOW: Macpherson launched her own line of intimates (aka lingerie) in the early ’90s and went on to have a small acting career, appearing in Woody Allen’s ‘Alice,’ ‘Batman and Robin,’ and ‘The Edge.’ She hosted ‘SNL’ in 1996, and had a recurring role on the sitcom ‘Friends.’ Currently, she hosts ‘Fashion Star’ and ‘Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model.’

THEN: Danish model Helena Christensen graced the covers and pages of every major fashion publication, but you probably know her best as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She also starred in the steamy video for Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” in 1991. NOW: Christensen continues to model, appearing in Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. She’s also a photographer, and her work has been seen in the pages of Nylon, Marie Claire, and Elle.

They look even better when coupled with Coke in this 1960 ad, don’t you think?
These are more compact setups, one from 1928 (left) and one from 1963 (a vacuum cleaner used as a hair dryer), both looking pretty strange to our modern eye:

Margaux Lange’s Plastic Body Series art jewelry collection utilizes salvaged Barbie doll parts in combination with sterling silver and pigmented resins. The series is a result of Lange’s desire to re-purpose mass produced materials into handmade, wearable art. It is meant to examine and celebrate her own as well as pop culture’s relationship with the icon known simply as: Barbie.

Lange received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2001, where her Plastic Body Series was first conceived. A Fine Arts education gave Lange the foundation necessary for conceptual exploration in her jewelry work, however, a childhood obsession with the doll and her miniature world is what she credits for nurturing her creativity and dexterity from an early age.

Margaux has been creating work in this series and exhibiting extensively for nearly 10 years. Her jewelry has been published in numerous books and has garnered international press coverage in the world’s top Art, fashion and design magazines. She is represented by Art Jewelry galleries and boutiques across the US and abroad. The Plastic Body Series is sought after by Art Jewelry collectors, Barbie nostalgics, and bold individuals alike.

It’s no secret that celebrities never purchase the four-figure red carpet gowns that put them on best-dressed lists around the world.
Lady Gaga, who borrowed a Thierry Mugler dress for a video shoot two years ago, allegedly returned the gown two weeks later, torn and soiled.

But at least they’re in good company, with this model on a Lagos runway enduring her own Naomi Campbell moment yesterday with cameras there to catch the look of horror on her face.

The model went head over heels as she walked in platform shoes and a knee-length printed dress for Nigerian fashion house Kinabuti in front of invited guests at the Italian consulate.

This is the mid-air moment a model realised she was headed for a fall during the Kinabuti catwalk show in Lagos yesterday

The model put her hand out ready to break her fall as she took a tumble in front of the cameras during the catwalk show by the Nigerian fashion house

The accident, proving walking up and down a catwalk is far harder than some may think, will bring to mind Miss Campbell’s own fall as she modelled for Vivienne Westwood in vertiginous heels at Paris Fashion Week in 1993.

The mock-crocodile Super Elevated Gillie shoes proved to be her undoing with five-inch platforms and nine-inch heels seeing her hit the deck – later becoming part of fashion history and finding a new home in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection.

The model endured her own Naomi moment – bringing to mind Miss Campbell’s fall on a Paris catwalk in 1993

Thankfully the rest of the Carnival in the Desert show went without a hitch for Kinabuti, a Lagos-based ethical fashion label run by Italian designer Caterina Bortolussi.

If anything, the label will be pleased that the model mishap has showcased its 2013 collection designs across the world – you can’t buy that kind of publicity.

Whenever Lady Gaga decides to tie the knot, we know exactly what she will love to wear! Bizarre fashion has gotten itself a new showstopper, a wedding dress is made entirely of human hair! Thelma Madine, who made a name for herself on the channel4 series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding designed this extravagant creation in collaboration with Voodou hair stylist, Ryan Edwards! Her team of dress makers from Nico bridal store worked with hairdressers from Liverpool salon Voodou to create the dress. It is made up of a whopping 250 meters of hair, tens of thousands of individual hair wefts and different pieces of hair, 1500 crystals and 12 underskirts. The size 6 dress took eight people over 300 hours to make, and weighs about 33 pounds! Adding to the bizarreness of the dress is the blood red color they chose to make the skirt. We are not sure if a traditional white would be a more appropriate choice; but the red sure gives it a Horror Bride feel!

Thelma Madine, a renowned dress designer has created an unbelievable dress made out of human hair! The size 6 dress, which took over 300 hours to make, uses 820 feet of hair and weighs about 33 pounds!

Team of dress makers and hairdressers worked on this human hair wedding dress – contains 250 metres of hair, plus tens of thousands of individual hair wefts and different pieces of hair, as well as 1500 crystals and 12 underskirts.

We love fashion and when it comes intertwined with technology we love it even more. Like the Karma Chameleon project that involves weaving electronic fabric into clothes in a way that allows the storage of energy from the body. You have two garments, a dress that changes itself, and a shirt which can charge a phone. What we are looking at could well be our future though not immediately, the aim is to create something ground-breaking, several notches higher from reversible jackets and color-changing clothes.

The fabric could be used to charge a mobile phone, the researchers say

Prototype designs have been developed to show the concepts in action. Ms Berzowska’s ideas will be presented at a conference dedicated to smart fabric innovation to be held in San Francisco this week.
